What the Bible Teaches on Worship and Salvation

What the Bible Teaches on Worship According to the New Testament Teachings

We are commanded to meet on the first day of every week (Sunday) to worship.  Acts 20:7

Every Sunday, we observe the five items of worship given in the New Testament.

Singing without the use of instrumental or mechanical music; Eph. 5:19, Col. 3:16; Heb. 2:12, 1 Cor. 14:12, 15

Praying; 1 Cor. 14:12, 15

Preaching the Gospel; Acts20:7

Communion (the Lord’s Supper); Acts20:7; 1 Cor.  11:23-29

Collection (for the Saints); 1 Cor. 16: 1-2

Christ is the Head of His church (Col. 1:18) and He is the only one who has the authority to:

Name His Church: Romans 16:16-17; Eph. 3:14-15; Col. 3:17

Set the proper standards for Worshipping Him: Jn. 4:23-25, Jn. 17:17; Mk 7:7-9

The Church is the Body of Christ and it wears His name: Rom. 16:16-17, Col.1:18, 24

There is just One body/One Church that Christ recognizes as His own. Eph. 1:22-23; Eph. 4:4, Eph. 5:23.
