We have moved to our new location: 95762 Amelia Concourse in the Lofton Pointe Plaza. Our first service at our new location is Sunday May 5, 2013.

Times of services: Sunday 11:00 a.m. and Wednesday evening Bible study 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

GUEST SPEAKER:

We are pleased to announce and welcome you to join us on Sunday, June 7, 2015; Michael Anderson, one of the Elders at the Wesconnett Church of Christ in Jacksonville, FL will be the guest speaker at our 11:00 service. He will be preaching the Gospel from the Holy Word of God. We will have a Fellowship meal afterwards on the West lot of our facility. We hope you will consider joining us and hearing the Word of God, the Gospel being preached!

Excellent News!

Sabrina Friday was baptized into the body of Christ on Tuesday night, June 18, 2013. We welcome her into the family of God. Her husband Dwayne, an already baptized believer in the Church of Christ  placed his membership with our congregation the same evening. We know they will be an asset to the Lord’s body.

Sis. Janie Thomas and Sis. Arva Butler, both long-time baptized believers in the Church of Christ placed their membership with our congregation on Sunday, June 23, 2013. We welcome both sisters and look forward to working with them as they work for the Lord.

We praise God for the additions to His church.

All praise and glory to God. We Thank Him for the Holy Spirit has done it again this week!

We had two more baptisms and record attendance. Frank Gilbert (age 88), and Frances Gilbert of Jacksonville, FL. The parents of Zandra Johnson were baptized into Christ  Sunday June 30, 2013. We welcome them into the family of God.

MORE GREAT NEWS!! MORE SOULS ADDED TO THE BODY OF CHRIST!

We welcome Alisha Ottwell into the body of Christ. She was baptized at Bible Study on Wednesday night September 25, 2013. We are thankful to God for her willingness to put on Christ in baptism.

We are so thankful to God the Father, the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit for adding two precious souls into the body of Christ – Marcus and Kisha Smalley and their three sons, Marcus Jr., Marquise, and Maurice on Sunday, January 26, 2014. Let the church say AMEN!

We welcome Lenethreia “Mimi” McKinnon into the body of Christ that meets at Amelia Island. We are thankful to God to have her and her son Kaidon, age 8 and her daughter Rhys, age 4. Mimi was baptized into the Lord on Father’s Day, Sunday June 15, 2014. Praise God that she had a tender heart and obeyed her Savior Jesus Christ.

We are thankful to God that Lorenzo Coleman was added to the body of Christ on Sunday, August 17, 2014. We welcome Lorenzo and commend him for his commitment to Christ.

Sis. Barbara Fagan, a former member of the Church of Christ in Texas decided to place her membership with the Amelia Island family, Sunday, November 16, 2014. She is a result of our very first door knocking effort on Saturday, November 15, 2014. We thank for answering her prayers and ours.

We are pleased that the Lord added Charlotte Gass to the family of God. She put the Lord on in baptism during Bible Study on Wednesday, December 2, 2015. We are thankful to have her and commend her for obeying the Lord.

We are thankful to God to welcome our newest brother in Christ, Bro. Alonzo Hunter who was baptized into Christ during Bible Study on  Wednesday night, December 14, 2016. We commend him for dedicating your life to Christ. The Holy Spirit and the body of Christ here welcomes you.

Chris Wooten was baptized into Christ during Bible Study on Wednesday night, April 19, 2017. We are thankful to God to have him added to body of Christ that meets here and we commend him for his decision to follow Christ. The Holy Spirit and the body of Christ here welcomes you.

We are pleased to welcome Bro. Larry Smith and his wife Sis. Lenore Smith who moved their membership officially from a Church of Christ in W. VA. to our family here on Sunday, November 12, 2017. They were visiting snow birds this year who formally lived  in the area in the 1980’s. Now they have purchased a home again in Fernandina! They are a welcomed addition to our family and are a great asset. God bless them for their decision. Bro. Larry has a great tenor voice and arranged for us to visit the Quality Care Center and have worship service with them on the last Sunday of each month.

Shelly Iwaniusz was baptized after Sunday service on December 17, 2017. She had been a regular visitor for 5 weeks since Nov. 12th. We welcome her into the family of God at Amelia Island. God bless her for her decision to follow Christ.

We welcome into the family of God Chelsea Wooten, sister of Bro. Chris Wooten, who was baptized after a personal bible study on Monday night, July 30, 2018. She will be attending a Church of Christ in her home city of Atlanta, GA. We pray that God will bless her and keep her in His fold.

We are pleased to welcome father and daughter, Brent and Mandi Smith. Brent is the son of Larry (one of our song leaders) and Lenore Smith and Mandi is their granddaughter. Mandi’s first service with us was on May 12, 2019 and Brent followed two weeks later on May 26, 2019. We are thankful for their presence. Brent has filled in for his father and led songs in the worship service at Amelia Island. He has a good bass voice.

We are delighted that Nick and Tina Patterson, members for a Church of Christ in Maryland decided to move to Fernandina. They have been visiting with us since October 27 of this year and on December 15, 2019, they decided that they would like Amelia Island to be their home congregation. We welcome them and thank God for their decision.

We are so pleased that God is continuing His work of saving souls at Amelia Island Church of Christ. We are excited to announce that our long time and faithful visitor Patricia Mirgorod was added to the Lord’s church after service on Sunday, July 5, 2020. Patricia is a native of Chili and moved to Fernandina Beach in November 2019 with her husband Wally and son Jose.  She first visited Amelia Island on Sunday, November 3, 2019. She continued to visit faithfully almost every Sunday and began attending Wednesday evening Bible Study and other fellowship events. After eight months of attending service, she made the decision to be added to the Lord’s church. She is an asset to the body of Christ. God is still in the blessing business!

We are pleased to have Sis. Quanna Wesley worship with us. She was a member of the Northside Church of Christ in Jacksonville, FL. She began worshipping with us on March 18, 2020.

The Lord has gracious blessed us with Bro. and Sis. Ryan and Joany Holmes and family. They were formerly worshipping at the Jacksonville Beach, FL congregation. We are so happy that they have found us.  They began worshipping with us on Sunday, January 21, 2021.

We are happy to add Sis. Suzanne Crittenden to the Amelia Island Church of Christ family. She recently moved to the area from Jacksonville, FL. She had been a member of a the San Jose Church of Christ and placed membership with us Sunday, February 28, 2021.

We welcome Sis. Wilma Dough, a new resident to the area from Ohio. At age 88, Sis. Dough is the oldest attending member. She celebrated her 88th birthday with us. She first visited us with her grandson on Sunday, August 29, 2021. She placed membership with us that same day. We are thrilled and blessed to have her worship with us.

On Sunday November 20, 2022, we welcomed two couples who have been in the Lord’s body for a long time. Bro. Nathaniel McCray and his wife Sis. Billie McCray placed membership with us and Bro. Ralph Parsley and his wife Sis. Audrey Parsley began worshipping us on each Sunday. We are thankful to God for their presence.

We are so thankful to God for these new souls!

JOYOUS CELEBRATION: On Sunday, May 7, 2023, our congregation celebrated the 10th Anniversary at this location. We celebrated together after service with a dinner at the Olive Garden in River City. We praise God for His goodness and mercy. We pray that we have many more years of worship service to our KING!

We welcome our new brother in Christ, Joey Clevenger. He was baptized into Christ on Sunday, July 23, 2023 and our new sister in Christ, Shelly Ann Roberts. She was also baptized into Christ on Sunday, July 23, 2023. We are thankful to God to have them be a part of the Lord’s family.

END OF THE YEAR SERVICES FOR 2019

We will have our Annual Evening Fellowship Service Sunday Evening, December 8th at 7:30 p.m. In addition to our regular morning service at 11:00, we will have a Sunday evening fellowship service. Please join us for this beautiful experience. We will have a Potluck meal after service. Bring your favorite dish, dessert, hors d’oeuvres, salad, vegetable, bread, soup or casserole.

Join us for our Annual Watch Night Service Tuesday evening, December 31, from 9:00 p.m. to midnight as we welcome the year of our Lord 2020 by singing, hearing four different Gospel minister speaking and by sending prayers of Thanksgiving up to God at midnight for all of His past blessings and the ones to come. The speakers that will be delivering uplifting Gospel messages this year are: Bro. Donovan King from the St. Mary’s Church of Christ, St. Mary’s, GA; Bro. Lance Griffin from the Hickory Hills Church of Christ, Tuppers Plains, OH; Bro. Marcus Smalley (who was baptized at the Amelia Island Church of Christ) from the Hampton Church of Christ, Hampton GA; and our own Bro. Dwayne Friday. Our minister, Bro. Percy Johnson, will give words of encouragement and deliver the Invitation. We will have a potluck meal together featuring a variety of dishes. Please bring your favorite one. Lord willing, we will see you there. Happy New Year!

What a great welcoming of the New Year it was! This was a first. One of our speakers, Lance Griffin, proposed to Mandi Smith after the service.  They are engaged to be married. The wedding is set for Saturday, October 10, 2020 in Ohio. Congratulations to the newly engaged couple.

A Great Work being done!

As of January 28, 2018, we began visiting the residents of the Quality Care Center on 1625 Lime St. in Fernandina Beach at 3:00 p.m. This work was organized by Bro. Larry Smith. We were visiting every other fourth Sunday alternating with the Taylor Home in Jacksonville. After our March 25th visit, it was decided by leadership that we will visit the Care Center on each fourth Sunday of each month beginning in April. We will have a brief church service with the residents. Participation is growing. We look forward to continuing this great work of the Lord! Below are pictures from our second visit which was March 25, 2018. We had 18 people present, nine from the Center and nine members attended.

We will continue our tradition of helping Raintree Village Children’s Home in Valdosta Georgia. We are currently collecting items from the children’s wish list. We don’t want any of the children to be left out over the holidays. We will be traveling there to deliver those items on Saturday, December 15, 2018. If you would like to contribute any items or funds to help purchase these items, please contact us. A list of these items will be made available to you via email or you can pick up a copy at the church building. Thanks be to God for the opportunity afforded us to participate in this great work that He commands. James 1:27.

We are studying the entire bible verse by verse. Please come and join us. We would love to have your presence, “Where the Bible is our only Authority”. We will give you a Bible answer to your Bible question.
